Last night I saw my good friend, Bryce's, play reading at the Pico Playhouse here in Los Angeles. Even before any of the actors came onstage I was moved by the fact that this event was even happening. Around 100 people gathered in dark room to witness the reading of a new play. No celebrities. No huge producers. Just the work. Miraculous. It wasn't surprising to me how fantastic my friend was, and his commitment to the work is a constant inspiration to me. I will miss him when he relocates to NYC later this year.
This afternoon I am setting off to take my place at a "Desert Reset" retreat, run by my wife. I am excited to leave the city for the weekend and enter into the quiet and depth the desert offers. Not to "tune out" to life, but to "tune into" it.
